There has been plenty of talk about the big screen adaptation of the hit novel If I Stay, with plenty of rumours about who will be involved in the project. If I Stay has been in the making for a few years now, without any real official information about who will be a part of the cast and crew.
The film adaptation of If I Stay first came about back in 2009, with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke lined up to helm the project. However, Catherine has since departed the project and R.J. Cutler was brought in as her replacement. Now, the lead role has been officially cast.
There had been many rumours for many months that Chloe Moretz would play the lead role in If I Stay and now it has been officially confirmed that she will play Mia in the movie. The screenplay for If I Stay has been adapted by Shauna Cross, based on the Gayle Forman novel, with production likely to begin next year.
As for Chloe Moretz, she can next be seen on the big screen, reprising her role as Hit Girl in Kick-Ass 2, which opens on August 16 in both the US and the UK. Chloe will also star in Carrie, which opens on October 18 in the US and then November 29 in the UK.
