When it was announced that the British boyband One Direction were taking a break, it was always going to be interesting to see what the boys were going to do with their solo career and, while we always expected that they would go on to try their hand at a solo career, we were also hoping that some of them would actually try to do something a bit different.
Fortunately for us, Harry Styles obliged and has decided to head off to Hollywood where he has pursued a career in the acting industry, landing a supporting role in the huge new Christopher Nolan movie Dunkirk. Harry has now been talking about his audition for the new film, admitting that there were actually some quite big names going for his role.
Styles was a guest on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, when he told host Chris Evans, "There was a lot of people. When I walked into the room everyone auditioning I had seen on movies and in TV. It was good, it was fun. It was really intense ... I just did a tape and a week of auditions."
He added, "I acted when I was younger a bit, I don't know if that even counts really. I've always been interested in it, I love movies. I am a massive fan of all of it. Then when I was not in the band for a bit I felt like I had time to explore it in a way that I'd wanna do it."
Dunkirk is set to hit the big screen on July 21 in both the US and the UK
