Following the amount of former X-Men stars who returned for the latest movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, there has been talk of which other original stars we would like to see making an appearance in the future. One actress who was missing from a return in X-Men: Days of Future Past, was Rebecca Romijn, who played the role of Mystique in the original X-Men trilogy, a role which is now played by Jennifer Lawrence.
With fans constantly talking about wanting to see Rebecca Romijn reprising her role as Mystique, the actress has obviously been asked about return to the X-Men franchise. While it seems that there are no plans for that to happen any time soon, Rebecca has insisted that she would definitely be interested in returning, should the opportunity arise, while also admitting that she has had a lot of talks with Jennifer Lawrence about the character.
Romijn told Digital Spy, "From what I understand, her make-up is very different from the make-up I went through. I don't think she had to go through everything that I went through. It sounds like [she had an easier time] - although my theory is that going through nine hours of make-up, you're in such a rotten mood, you can't be anything but evil - it turns you into the villain that you need to be to play Mystique properly!"
The next X-Men film we will get is the movie X-Men: Apocalypse, which will hit the big screen on May 19, 2016 in the UK and May 27, 2016 in the US. We know that we will definitely see Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Mystique but it looks doubtful that we will see Rebecca Romijn returning to the role.
