The Heart Wants What It Wants singer Selena Gomez has been in the entertainment industry for many years now, going on to become one of the biggest stars in the business. With such huge fame comes a huge amount of attention and Selena has found herself regularly hitting the headlines.
Early in 2014, Selena Gomez was set to head over to Australia to perform a few tour dates, before then pulling out of the run just two months before she was due for her first gig. Many fans and critics hit out at Selena, giving her a lot of stick for cancelling the tour dates but it has now been revealed that she was actually suffering from lupus.
During a recent interview with Billboard magazine, Gomez explained to them, "I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke. I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy. You're a**holes.'"
She then went on to add, "I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again. I'm so f**king nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I've been working since I was 7. I've been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It's so disappointing that I've become a tabloid story. The hate motivated me."
It is nice to see that Selena Gomez is back to her best and is putting the bad times behind her, with the release of her second studio album Revival, which has a few tracks inspired by the negative comments about her illness.
