Over the course of the past few years, Fast and Furious actor Vin Diesel has made many comments about landing a role in a comic book movie, hinting at a number of different characters, before it was finally revealed that he had been cast as the voice of Groot in the hit Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy, with the character becoming a favourite with fans.

While Vin Diesel did not exactly have the most difficult of scripts for Guardians of the Galaxy, he did manage to impress with his infamous line "I am Groot", which people love to try to mimic. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming our way in 2017, Vin has spoken about his hopes for the sequel, admitting that he would love to see Giant Groot make an appearance in the movie.
Diesel was talking to IGN, when he said, "I've talked to James Gunn about that. I can't give it away but I would love to see gigantic Groot. I'd love to throw him into a forest and see how much mass that he consumes after devouring all the trees. Imagine throwing him into Central Park in New York City. I just want to see Giant Groot."

As well as having Vin Diesel back as the voice of Groot, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also see the return of Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, while Chris Pratt is back as Starlord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Karen Gillan as Nebula. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is once again written and directed by James Gunn, with a release date set for April 28, 2017 in the UK and May 5, 2017 in the US.
