When it was very first announced that Ben Affleck was going to play Batman in the DC Extended Universe, there were a lot of people who were disappointed by the casting choice, believing the actor to be a poor fit for the character. With that said, there have been a lot of these critics who have been won over by Ben as Batman in the less than impressive movie .
Since then though, there has been a lot of confusion about what is going to happen with Ben Affleck as Batman in the future of the DCEU. We do already know that we are going to see Ben back as Batman for the upcoming Jusice League movie, with talk of a possible sequel being made, but when it comes to the solo Batman projects, there has been quite a lot of confusion.
First off, Ben Affleck was set to write and direct The Batman movie, as well as starring in the film, but he has since backed out of the writing and directing, with Matt Reeves coming on board to direct The Batman. Matt then made some comments about his movie, which led many to believe that Affleck was being replaced as Batman, which the director then cleared up, insisting Ben is still Batman.
Now there has been a lot of talk about some other DC movies, which will stand alone from the DCEU, which has led people to believe that we could well see someone else also playing Batman, which could just end up getting very confusing indeed.
As far as we are aware right now, Ben Affleck will not only appear in the Justice League movie this year, but he will also return for The Batman film, as well as the possible Justice League sequel. After that, it is anyone's guess as to what the future will hold for Ben Affleck as Batman.
