Those of you who live in the UK or are very familiar with the British celebrity dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing will be well aware that it is the place where many celebrity relationships go to die and where new romances are born. It was no real surprise then, when British actress Gemma Atkinson went on the hit series, that people instantly assumed that she would end up in a relationship with her dance partner.
Gemma Atkinson soon met dance expert Gorka Marquez on her stint on Strictly Come Dancing and it did not take long for the rumours to spread that the two were dating. While they still insist that they were not together while working on the show, they did eventually confirm their romance, with Gemma now opening up about just how happy she is in her relationship with Gorka.
Atkinson was recently chatting to the guys over at the MailOnline, when she said to them, "I think it’s just the fact that we get on so well. All relationships have special qualities otherwise you wouldn’t be with that person in the first place, but Gorka is like my best mate."
She then went on to add, "He genuinely is my best friend but obviously we’re in a relationship. He’s very supportive and understanding of my career, and I’m very supportive and understanding of his. It works well. I hope he's the one, otherwise I wouldn’t be with him."
As far as her acting career is concerned, there has been a bit of a push from fans for Gemma Atkinson to land the role of Power Girl in a possible future DC project.
